Basking in the glory of the splendid run that it is enjoying at the theatres in India and internationally, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer, Robot 2.0, is expected to sweep off the 5oo crore club in its stride. Inching towards a new milestone almost daily, the movie had already grossed Rs 488 crore at the global box office yesterday and is expected to enter the Rs 500 crore club today. However, the detailed figures of the collection at the world box office will be released later today.

Karan Johar, who presented the Hindi version of 2.0, shared the news through his tweet on the social media site. The tweet read, “A box office PHENOMENA!!!! 500 crores worldwide!!!!! The announcement by the makers of the mega-budget 3D film, Lyca Productions, that 2.0 will be released in 47000 plus 3D screens in China, has earned the movie its tag of being the biggest foreign release in the Chinese market.

The whistle worthy performances of Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar has rightly earned them their place in the 500 crore club for the first time. In the movie, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Richard/The Crow/Dr. Pakshirajan who is angry seeing the destruction of the environment due to excessive use of technology. “There is a moment in the story that emphasizes the other living creatures on planet earth. It says that the planet not only belongs to the human race but also to animals and birds. Though animals and plants cannot raise their voice against human beings, they have the right to live. So, do not spoil the mother nature” said Khiladi Kumar in an interview to IANS.

The amazing VFX of the film, which is a sequel of Rajinikanth’s movie Enthiran, has been working in its favour, making it a huge hit not just in South India but also in countries like New Zealand, Australia and the US. Not slowing down even on Day 7, the box office numbers are expected to only go on increasing with 2.0’s release in China.
