The makers released the trailer of Deepika Padukone- Shahid Kapoor- Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati and the fans went crazy as usual. The craze started with the first look of Deepika as Padmavati, followed by Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Singh and then Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The trailer is just incredible with the right amount of grandeur added to it. However, one cannot just miss the little striking similarities between Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s this magnum opus and Bajirao Mastani featuring Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

#The location and the sets: If you just go back to the Bajrao Mastani memories, you can find something very much similar to Padmavati and that is the location and the sets. The mud and dusty spaces with warriors and horses running around almost gives us the same vibes.

#Dialogues: Padmavati and Bajirao Mastani, both were period films and hence the language has to have to heavy words. However, the tone and the dialogue delivery by Deepika Padukone, especially, remind us of the beautiful Mastani that she played. Also, Shahid Kapoor mouths the brave words just like Ranveer did in Bajirao Mastani.

#Chemistry Between the Queen and the King: There is this scene where Deepika Padukone is shown putting headgear on Shahid Kapoor. Isn’t it much much close to the scene where Priyanka Chopra’s Kashibai had a similar thing done to her warrior husband Bajirao by Ranveer? #Pinga Vibes: And yet again, we can smell some ‘Pinga’ song vibes here. The shot where Shahid Kapoor is standing on the verandah of their huge hall and watching the dance is very much similar to the top shot of Pinga featuring Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

#The bow and arrow shot: Being a period drama, the war scenes hold an important place in the movie. Here one of the most carefully taken shot was Shahid Kapoor holding the bow and arrow with his head gear on. Now just replace Shahid with Deepika as Mastani. Remember that epic shot from Bajirao Mastani?

Well, every film has its own story and Padmavati too has one. Even though there are a few similarities, one thing we are sure of is the gripping storyline and that killer look of Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. Then again, it’s a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film so we can always expect more surprises in it!
