It’s Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday today and while we wish the birthday boy a great time and a super awesome year ahead, we take you guys on a walk down memory lane with the best Ranbir Kapoor movies to date, movies you just cannot afford to miss!
Ok, ok, we know that it was a flop movie and Ranbir should have chosen better to start out with, but hey! Remember that towel dropping scene? Women still drool over it and winder as to Sanjay had to be so cruel and cut the shot midway. Hmpf. Don’t torture yourself with the entire movie. Just lay that scene. On repeat. All day long.
2. Wake up Sid!
It was an unusual pairing – Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir. But the movie surprised us. It perfectly captured the joy, the angst, the fun, the lives of the youth. Ranbir in his ‘don’t care’ avatar and his maturing into a responsible lad is worth watching. That scene where Ranbir makes the bread-cake for Konkona? Awwww.
3. Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year
Though not as big and famous as his other movies, Rocket Singh has been one of Ranbir’s best roles to date. Charting the life of a simple salesman, Ranbir showed us the struggles of the corporate world perfectly. His determination and slow rise to success teach us all a lesson or two in patience.
Though this movie received mixed reviews – some absolutely loved it and others found it too stretched and complicated . But whatever your take on the movie, do watch it once for Ranbir’s performance. Quite the Micheal Corleone, Ranbir totally impressed us in this political drama.
A love-saga, Rockstar showed us how truly talented the Kapoor boy is. His intensity, his pain made the audience cry for him too. A truly tragic ending. Who can ever forget the nadaan parinde and the beautiful way in which he ended the movie.
Another movie which showed us just how brilliant he is. laying the role of a physically challenged Murphy, Ranbir Kapoor did comlete justice to the character Though a bit confused in laces, Barfi has by far been Ranbir’s best performance.
7. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
YJHD as it is fondly called brought back ex-lovers Ranbir and Deepika and oh my! What chemistry. His ambitious boy-next-door avatar made every girl fall for his character in the movie. Just beautiful!
