For those of you who don’t know, Pehredaar Piya Ki Ratan (Afaan Khan), a 10-year-old boy who is married to and Diya (Tejaswi Prakash), 18. Ever since the first promo came out, people were outraged, and said that it propagates child marriage. Of course the star cast defended the show, and Tejaswi even went on to say “it’s progressive.” People gave it a chance, but things took a turn for worse when the makers introduced a ‘suhagraat’ sequence and a proposed London honeymoon for Diya and Ratan. This is when the petition was started and we are sure it will cross the 50,000 mark in just a few minutes because it is going viral with everyone supporting the ban on the show.
Just in case you haven’t signed on the petition yet, click here and do it. Because Pehredaar Piya Ki is indeed crap in the name of entertainment.
