We had told you how Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is going to be travelling to remote areas of Maharashtra in April 2016 in order to participate in the water conservation initiative he began with the Maharashtra government. The actor-filmmaker’s Paani Foundation had announced the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup in February 2016 – a project that will train villagers in water conservation and later reward them through a contest. This was being seen as one of the best efforts for drought relief. But guess what, Aamir’s not alone in his quest! Here’s some good news! Aamir will be carrying along some of his best industry friends, like Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan, and his newfound friends, Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber! Other stars Aamir has roped in include Riteish Deshmukh, Atul Kulkarni and Sai Tamhankar. Mumbai Mirror tells that the ‘party’ held at Aamir Khan’s place with Sunny Leone, Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and the others was actually a serious discussion about the water conservation project of Paani Foundation. Each actor had a suggestion ready for Aamir’s team that comprises his Satyamev Jayate director Satyajit Bhatkal and crew, who are already on ground.
Like we had informed you earlier, Aamir’s ex-wife Reena Dutta is the chief operating officer of Paani Foundation and she was present at the discussion with Sunny, Daniel, Saif and Kangana. Also present was PK director Rajkumar Hirani who is in on the project with Aamir from the beginning, along with Kumarmangalam Birla and Mukesh Ambani. Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao, also part of the Paani Foundation, also spent some time with Kangana Ranaut.
After finalising the project over year-long discussions with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Aamir Khan recently met Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai wherein he is believed to have discussed some issues that were topics on his television show Satyamev Jayate.
On the occasion of Holi 2016, Aamir had also urged people to use less water, or not at all, concerned as he was of the water scarcity in the state. And now, Aamir has personally invited his best buddies to take part the water harvesting project. Kudos to Aamir and the team!
