On Monday, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Bharat, arrived in Sonamarg (hill station in Jammu and Kashmir) for a two-day shooting schedule for his upcoming action-thriller ‘Race 3‘. Sonamarg is hosting Salman for the second time. The actor, who had shot for Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the picturesque Pahalgam, is back in the Valley after three years.

According to reports, the 52-year-old actor arrived in Srinagar to shoot the last song for his most-awaited film ‘Race 3’. Fans of the superstar are likely to throng his shooting schedule in Sonamarg, thereby helping local hoteliers, tea vendors and pony owners. Helmed by Remo D’Souza, the action-packed thriller is being bankrolled jointly by Ramesh S Taurani and Salman.

Reports also suggest that Salman is likely to shoot for the movie in Ladakh region after completing the schedule in Sonamarg. A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “the team will be filming some portions of the song in the resort-town before leaving for Ladakh for the wrap. The J&K Police and Tourism departments have made special security arrangements at every location.”

In a statement to Mumbai Mirror, a top tourism official said, “The team has procured all the required permissions from the Wildlife and Tourism department to shoot in Sonamarg and Ladakh and we are assisting them in every way. We want more films to be shot in the Valley,” further adding, “Extra care is being taken for Salman as the actor has a large fan base in Kashmir. Besides the state police, he is accompanied everywhere by his personal security Shera.” ALSO READ: Race 3’s Last Leg Of Shoot To Take Place In Leh Ladakh Instead Of South Africa?

Besides Salman, “Race 3” will also feature Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. Like all Salman blockbusters, ‘Race 3’ is scheduled to be released coinciding with the Eid festival on June 15. Sonamarg has been one of the most favourite shooting locales for Bollywood. Raj Kapoor’s “Ram Teri Ganga Meli” and Yash Chopra’s “Silsila” are some of the better known Bollywood movies shot in Sonamarg.
