Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Aiyaary, is all set to feature in a romantic film. Yes, the actor, who has worked with Ekta Kapoor in Ek Villain, will soon be reuniting for yet another romantic film. Yes, you read that right. A source, in a statement to DNA, said, “Sidharth and Ekta are reuniting for a romantic film after four years. They had delivered a hit Ek Villain in 2014 and now, the two are in talks for another film in the same space.”
In one of his previous interviews with the daily, Sidharth too had hinted at this development. The actor said, “I am in talks for a romantic film. It’s again the quintessential Hindi romance that I haven’t done for a while. Nothing has been locked yet. Once it is done, I will talk about it. But I have liked it for now.” Well, now we know that he was talking about the film that is backed by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
Sidharth has liked the idea and the movie is still in the scripting stage. Meanwhile, another source told the leading daily, “Sidharth and Ekta have met a couple of times to discuss the movie, which is still in the scripting stage. But the idea has been bounced to Sidharth and he has liked it.”
We know that Ekta is producing two films – one project, that the team had recently announced, which will be helmed by filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and another is the sequel to Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain. While we are yet to find out which one Sid has been signed on, the source further added, “No, it’s not Ek Villain 2 or the film with Ashwiny. It’s a different film which will be directed by someone else.” ALSO READ: Alia Bhatt – Sidharth Malhotra Breakup Has Put Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 Plan In Quandary?
On the professional front, Sidharth is gearing up for the release of Aiyaary, on February 9, 2018. The film, that is helmed by Neeraj Pandey, also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Rakul Preet in pivotal roles. Initially, Aiyaary was to release on January 26 but was postponed after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat (starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor) took that spot. Reportedly, the actor is also prepping for the biopic on slain Kargil martyr Vikram Batra. Watch this space for further updates.
