Vidya Balan’s recently released Begum Jaan failed to create magic at the box office. In fact, the actress earlier film Kahaani 2 was also a box office disaster. Now Vidya is not thinking about the lull period of her life and has decided to move on with her next project, Tumhari Sulu. The actress will once again be reprising the role of a Radio Jockey after 2006’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai. But it looks like the actress has resorted to a traditional route before kickstarting her next. Yes, according to Mumbai Mirror’s report, a Pooja was taking place on the sets of Tumhari Sulu with the actress’ mother around. In fact, producers Atul Kasbekar, Tanuj Garg and, Shanti Sivaramand and director Suresh Triveni also brought their mothers along.
Following the auspicious ceremony, the film went on floors. Co-producer Bhushan Kumar’s mother was missing from the do as she was in Delhi at that time. But we wonder if the pooja was carried out to ward off evil or negative vibes from the sets of the film and ensure that it runs well at the box office? But according to the reports it was Atul’s idea to arrange a pooja with all the mothers around. He admits that his last project Neerja was kickstarted with the help of cosmic powers and blessings of Rama Bhanot (mother of the brave air hostess who got shot while trying to save the passengers in the hijacked plane). The project not only turned out to be a box office success but also bagged a number of awards, including the National Film Awards 2017. Tanuj, the film’s producer was quoted by the daily saying, “Mothers are special and we thought it would be wonderful to have their blessings for our labour of love.”The mothers, however, didn’t arrive empty handed but brought in loads of sweets. Tumhari Sulu’s first song sequence will be shot in Worli on Sunday. The team will be moving on to Bandra, Andheri and Borivali for the same. The makers have a plan to wrap the entire film before June’s third week in Mumbai. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni, the mastermind behind the most popular Mauka Mauka commercial aired during the ICC World Cup 2015.
