Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been choosing her roles carefully. While she is not really bothered about the length of the role, the content and the depth of the character she plays on screen has been her focal point. She impressed us with her earnest, moving performance in Sarbjit and then wooed and wowed us as she played the Shayara (Poetess) in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and now, with Fanne Khan, the actress has yet another treat for her fans.

In a recent interview to a daily, the actress opened up about her role and what made her sign the film without any second thoughts. Talking about her role, the actress said, “I am a chapter in the film, not the fulcrum. There are other talents in the story,” she shared in an interview with Hindustan Times. She let her fans know how much of her to expect in the film and at the same time revealed something that will make the wait to see her on the big screen difficult. “You will see why I chose to do the film (Fanne Khan) once it releases,” she revealed, dropping a clear and loud hint that her performance in Fanne Khan will be something to watch out for. The film is scheduled for an Eid 2018 release and there are reports that Aishwarya’s role was rewritten and extended in the film after Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, one of the producers of the film, was left impressed by the actress’ performance. She plays a singer-performer in the film, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao as her love interest. Fanne Khan is a Bollywood remake of Everybody’s Famous and marks the directorial debut of adman Atul Manjrekar.
