Saraswati Chandra actor Gautam Rode is making his first big screen debut opposite Zarine Khan in Anant Mahadevan’s directorial venture Aksar 2. The pair has been grabbing eyeballs for quite some time now, especially after the actor took to his social media account to share the motion poster of the film a few days ago. Seeing Zarine Khan in a ravishing avatar, wearing a black lacy lingerie and dark lips, and Gautam in a classy dapper look, viewers were left eager for the film. Today, the trailer for the upcoming suspense thriller was launched and all we can say is that our desperation for the movie has only escalated.

Aksar 2 has been shot in Mauritius and the entire picturization looks very good in the trailer. The film also stars Abhinav Shukla, former cricketer Sreesanth and Lillete Dubey in pivotal roles. Gautam is said to be playing an investment banker, while Zarine is essaying the role of a caretaker hired to look after an aged estate owner, Khambatta (Lillete Dubey). From the look of the trailer, one can definitely vouch for the fact that Aksar 2 has taken deceit, passion and conspiracy to a whole new level—much more than what we got to witness in Aksar (2006). Check out the trailer here.

The film is a sequel to the 2006 Emraan Hashmi-Udita Goswami and Dino Morea starrer film, Aksar, which is best remembered for its chartbusters like Soniye and Jhalak Dikhlaja, composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Those were also the reigning years of the music director/singer. Another highlight of the film was the impeccable chemistry between Emraan and Udita, which is also well visible between Gautam and Zarine in the second installment of the film franchise. Let’s hope that Aksar 2’s music lives up to the expectations of the fans,  just the way its prequel had done 10 years ago. The background score in the motion poster was quite catchy and definitely caught our attention. We’re hoping that the film’s songs turn out to be as appealing given that the music director is Mithoon.

The movie is slated to release on October 6 this year. What do you have to say about the trailer? Did you find it interesting? Let us know in the comments’ section below.
