After Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmaavat’s screening last night, Akshay Kumar too followed their footsteps. The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan too hosted their movie’s screening last night. The Rustom actor, wife Twinkle Khanna along with their son Aarav were seen at a special screening of PadMan held at Sunny Super Sound in Mumbai on Tuesday night. Also seen at the screening was Twinkle’s mom Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia and Twinkle’s cousin Karan Kapadia.

Twinkle and Akshay, who get papped as they arrive at the special screening of the film, were all smiles for the paparazzi. Akshay was in the front seat, while son Aarav accompanied mom Twinkle in the back seat and Dimple Kapadia arrived in a separate car. Akshay and his family were casually dressed for the screening. While Twinkle had sported a white kurta with a blue and grey scarf, Akshay opted for a white and black tee.

Helmed by R Balki and bankrolled by Twinkle Khanna, PadMan is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who became a household name after inventing low-cost sanitary napkin making machines. The film, that stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles, was to release on January 25, 2018,  the same date as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat’s but on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s request, Akshay decided to move his film to February 9, 2018 as to avoid a clash with the controversial film Padmaavat.

It was a good decision on Akshay’s part since it wouldn’t have been beneficial for anyone if two big films release on the same date. However, PadMan will hit the silver screen next week with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s Aiyaary. Let’s wait and watch to see who wins the box office race.
