Ali Fazal will be next seen in the Hindi remake of the cult classic Telugu film, Prasthanam, along with Sanjay Dutt. The Victoria and Abdul actor will essay the role of Dutt’s son in the remake of the film.

Ali Fazal admires Sanjay Dutt right from the beginning of his career in the industry. For Ali, it was a dream come true and was delighted to be cast in a role which is much different than ones he has done before. A true fan of Sanjay Dutt, Ali did not even read the script of the film before signing it.  The script of the film was given to him by the Telugu director, Dev Katta, who is also helming the remake, before signing it.

Ali said in the statement, “It’s a remake of a cult classic. And Deva helming the film was a great reason to come on board. I met the team once I loved what I heard. As an actor sometimes, you go with your instinct of the film and the part you play. To top this, Sanjay Dutt who is an iconic name whom I have grown up watching and been a fan of, was a great reason to be on board without a second thought. And plus it’s a father-son duo that actors would love to dive into.”

A source close to the actor said, “Ali only met Deva and the team once, and he was ecstatic with the role offered to him. He only heard the main gist of the story and his role and was immediately on board”.

Sanjay Dutt Productions will produce the film Prasthaanam.
