‘Rangoon’ star Kangana Ranaut’s nepotism remark on Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar on his talk show is the hot topic of the town. A lot has been said on this particular topic, and this led to a war of words between Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut. The entire film industry had been divided with their opinions and this has been one of the most controversial episodes till date. Karan lashed out at Kangana asking her to leave the industry. And Kangana backfired him too saying the industry is not a film studio that he inherited from his dad.

And now that Bollywood is deconstructing the word ‘nepotism’ in its own way, Swara Bhaskar has now spoke about it. She is the latest one to join the bandwagon and in an interview to a leading daily, she said “Bollywood as an industry is based on relationships, it has always been star-driven and it has an element of feudalism. So, it would be difficult for an outsider but my experience of Bollywood is not nepotistic at all.” She also added “I think people, who have been most warm and nice are people like Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor and even Aditya Chopra. He has always been very responsive and helpful.”

Swara said, “Since the whole nepotism debate is going on, I just want to say that Karan has been a revelation to me. He is an industry elite but he has been a wonderful surprise. He launched our film’s poster despite me not knowing him personally.” She also said that despite Karan being a busy man, he would always find time to reply to her messages. “His tweet added a certain credibility and gave visibility to our film. He is a very busy man but he replied to all my messages. When he tweeted our poster, people thought that I had paid him. All I want to say is, I can’t afford to pay him,” she said.

It can be noted that Swara and Sonam are Bollywood bffs and they will also be starring together in Rhea Kapor’s directorial Veere-Di-Wedding that also stars Kareena Kapoor. So it is hard to say if Swara truly means what she is saying or if her statements are motivated by her friendship with Sonam. Well, all we can see is that this war is getting more interesting by the minute. We wonder how Kangana will react to this!
