Unlike most celebrities, Anushka Sharma and her long time boyfriend Virat Kohli, who tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Italy, did not drop a hint to the world outside about their dreamy wedding, controlling how much access to their wedding the people had, what pictures they got to see. The couple avoided the unwanted attention but got hitched amidst close friends and family in an Italian countryside resort with high security. Virat-Anushka opted for a peaceful wedding which is just about them and certainly did not want gate-crashers, paparazzi or reporters waiting for their bytes.
While we wonder if this was their idea to get married in Italy, let me tell you it was celebrity couple, who suggested them to opt for a secret low-key affair to avoid all the tamasha. Yes, you heard it right, it’s none other than Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji and Yash Raj Films’ boss Aditya Chopra, who urged Anushka to pick Italy as her wedding destination. The Asian Age quoted a source close to Yash Raj Films as saying, “It was his idea that Anushka and Virat have their wedding in Italy.”
The source further added, “He warned them that a desi wedding would turn into a tamasha with paparazzi and gate crashers.” Advise well taken. The report also suggests that Rani and Aditya were the only people who were invited from the film fraternity for Virushka’s wedding, but the couple couldn’t make it as they weren’t keen on taking daughter Adira along.
