Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Namastey London won the hearts in 2012. Now director Vipul Shah is back with the second installment of the Namaste franchise, this time, with two other stars in the lead. Ishaqzaades Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra have been finalized for this romantic film which was earlier named as ‘Namaste Canada’. However, after going through the script and the need of the story, the makers decided to change the name. ‘Namaste Canada’ has now been turned into ‘Namaste England’ as the storyline suits the backdrop of England more than Canada.

While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Vipul Shah revealed, “We have made the change primarily because I think the script is far more culturally suited in London than in Canada.” There were also many talks that the title was earlier already registered by the original star Akshay Kumar and there was hence some tiff between the makers and Akshay.

However, rubbishing these reports, Shah said, “Akshay has been most gracious from the outset, and had given me the title much earlier. But I had by then already made the choice of ‘Canada’. The change in title happened a month ago and the film’s team has already done a reccee in the UK.” Also Read: Arjun Kapoor And Parineeti Chopra’s Namaste Canada Gets A Release Date, To Hit The Theatres On December 7, 2018

Meanwhile, as reported in DNA, the film will have another leading lady apart from Parineeti Chopra. However, there will be no love triangle nor will she play Arjun’s love interest. But the actress’ part will be one eminent part that will take the story further. While Disha Patani refused to do the role, Pooja Hegde might give her nod.
