Manashi Sahariah from Palak Muchchal’s team finally emerged as the winner of The Voice India Kids Season 2 last night following weeks of continuous practice, vote appeals and hard work. Not only did the young girl win the trophy, but also took home Rs 25 lakh as a winning prize. It’s indeed a moment of pride for the Assamese girl and her family. She triumphed over Shruti Goswami, Shekinah Mukhiya, Guntas Kaur, Nilanjana Roy and Mohammad Fazil, with whom she was competing in the finals. Hailing from a small district in Assam that comprises a population of 300, Manushi discovered her passion for singing at the nascent age of 3, when she would listen to her mother sing.
As she couldn’t find a trainer, she worked on her singing skills by observing and listening to online videos. Not just that, her village was so supportive of her talent that they collected funds to send her to Mumbai. Now isn’t that a heartwarming story? Given that she emerged as the winner of the show, it’s safe to say that their efforts didn’t go waste. Palak who mentored the girl can’t contain her happiness and is extremely proud of her protege. Speaking to Indian Express about her win, Manashi said, “Firstly I would like to thank the people of my village who always believed in my talent and supported my dreams. Having said that, I am truly blessed to have mentored under the guidance of Coach Palak because not only did she invest time and energy in me, she truly inspired me in my journey. The Voice India Kids has given me a reason to believe that talent finds its due platform. I have gained a lot on from this stage – friendship, love, respect and a teacher whom I will always treasure.”
Palak, on the other hand, told the leading daily, “I am over the moon! Manashi has grown exponentially through the show right from the Blind Auditions to the Live round. Her journey was truly exceptional and has ability to inspire millions. I am extremely proud of her for winning this title and I wish her all the very best for a melodious future. Having said that, each child who participated in The Voice Kids is a winner because it takes a lot of courage and confidence to pursue your passion and all these kids are exceptionally talented. The show has in its true sense raised the bar in the singing reality genre.” Well, we too would like to take this opportunity to wish and congratulate the young girl on her victory. It was truly well deserved!
