The Swedish DJ powerhouse Avicii real name Tim Bergling has died at age 28.

His publicist has confirmed that the DJ had died and released this statement, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” his publicist Diana Baron said in a statement. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Avicii known for progressive house music first received fame for his track ‘Levels’ which instantly became popular went onto becoming number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and also received a Grammy nomination for the same.

He died in Muscat, Oman and has given many hits like Sunshine with David Guetta, Levels, I could Be The One with Nicky Romero, Wake Me Up, You Make Me, X You, Addicted To You, Waiting For Love, Without You etc.

He released his debut album called True in 2013. He has ranked in the top 10 charts in over 15 countries. he released his second album in 2015 called Stories.

It’s not clear how the DJ passed away however his ongoing health issues were public before his death. He had suffered from pancreatitis due to heavy drinking. He even cancelled his shows after having his gallbladder and appendix removed. He finally made the call of retiring entirely from touring. Ibiza saw his last final live appearance and he went separate ways from his longtime manager Ash Pournouri.

This comes as a huge loss for all his fans as he was just 28-year-old. Many celebrities are condoling his death including Liam Payne, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris. Wishes are coming from all over for this widely loved Music DJ.
