Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a remake of the Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham, is the story of the marriage between Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar) and Mudit (Ayushmann Khurrana) who is suffering from temporary erectile dysfunction. The film that hit the screens on September 1 has been receiving a lot of love and appreciation from all quarters. By week two the film is nearing a box office collection of Rs 40 crore the entire star cast recently celebrated the film’s success bash with utmost pomp and fervour. And now what comes as a new development to the film’s growing success, is that Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has released in nearly 22 screens across 16 cities in Russia today. Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s Russian poster today.

Seeing the success of the film, director R S Prasanna, thanked everyone for making Shubh Mangal Saavdhan a huge success. He tweeted successfully to convey his gratitude. He gave a special mention to producer, whom he considers as his ‘mentor,’ ‘brother’ and ‘protector’ , Aanand L Rai. He tweeted, “Your faith and love gave me #ShubhMangalSaavdhan.” Furthermore he wrote,  “Thank u universe for conspiring to make the beautiful journey of #ShubhMangalSaavdhan also a successful one! Standing up For Love paid off!”

The film marks Ayushmann Khurrana’s second collaboration with Bhumi Pednekar after Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). In a recent interview with news agency IANS, R S Prasanna said that he plans on making the sequel of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. “It will be very interesting. We were waiting for audience’s response — whether they want to listen to the next story or not, and we have received feedback from the audience. They loved Ayushmann and Bhumi’s characters in the film, so definitely a sequel will happen,” IANS quoted Mr Prasanna as saying.

When Ayushmann was asked the same question he confirmed the news but said that they would have to look for another problem as his “gent’s problem” was solved at the end of the film. ““But the problem is, what will be the ‘problem’ of part two since it already got solved in the first one… We are looking for a plot line. It is a quirky plot and we want to explore it more,” he told the news agency.
