Ayushmann Khurrana, who has delivered hits like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan this year, with the latter based on a socially relevant topic, has been much appreciated for his performances this year. He also received much love for his performance in Meri Pyaari Bindu. And talking about his choice of scripts the actor has revealed that it was after Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), that he learnt how to choose scripts.
Talking about it in an interaction with Hindustan Times, Ayushmann said, “After Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), I realised that script really matters and the content should be different in this day and age because nowadays, you have lot of options online and lot of space for people to showcase their work. And those are quirkier and edgier because censorship is lenient online.” ALSO READ: Parineeti Chopra To Feature In Karan Johar’s Upcoming Short Film?
On his choice of films he did till now, Ayushmann stated, “Look at Akshay (Kumar) and Aamir (Khan). Even such big stars have married content-based cinema with socially relevant films and people haven’t labelled them, so I don’t see any risk. They have rather set a benchmark for us to follow. They’re an inspiration and I certainly won’t have any apprehensions signing other such films if they come my way.”
In his next film with Sriram Raghvan which will be a thriller, the actor will be seen playing a visually challenged pianist. Talking about it, he added, “I am glad I’ve taken my time. I have dabbled two different characters but I haven’t dabbled two genres. My films have been medium budget ones, set in small towns about a middle-class family where I play relatable good boy characters.” The film will also star Tabu, and this is the first time that Ayushmann will collaborate with the actress.
