Mohammad Azharduddin has all the reasons to smile! Everyone did fear(especially the cricketers and a certain starlet) that Tony D’Souza’s film open a can of worm of sorts. It was also anticipated that Zahar would showcase match-fixing saga in a no holds barred manner. But fortunately no skeletons were tumbled out of a secretive wardrobe and the film eventually went on glorify the fallen cricketer, just like most our biopics do. It is an undeniable fact that Hashmi enjoys tremendous fan following. The way he imbibed Azhar’s character and managed to ape his mannerisms must have made cinegoers choose Azhar as their choice of movie this weekend. So far it has netted Rs 6.30 crore. Trade pundit Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to explain the figures.

The film has recived mixed response from the critics but going by Hashmi’s popularity, Azhar may keep soaring at the box office in the days to come!
