On Friday, Milan Luthria’s  much awaited Baadshaho featuring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana Dcruz, Vidyut Jamwal hit theatres. The film clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana – Bhumi Pednekar’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan which also released on September 1. Though Ajay and Emraan’s hiest film received mixed reviews, it emerged as a crowd puller between the two.

On Day 1, Baadshaho made Rs 12.03 crore at the ticket windows. Eid festivities gave the Emraan Hashmi – Ajay Devgn starrer the much-required boost and the film earned Rs 15.60 crore on Day 2. Within two days of its release, the film earned Rs 27.63 crore at the ticket windows. Sunday was expected to be good for the film. The film made another Rs 15.10 crore on Sunday, taking the first weekend total of Baadshaho to Rs 43.30 crore. Trade analyst just updated about the film’s first-weekend collection in a tweet. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan which released alongside Baadshaho made Rs 8.27 crore at the box office in two days. Though the Ayushmann – Bhumi starrer was appreciated for its subject, the film made Rs 2.71 crore on Day 1. The business of the film doubled on Day 2 thanks to good word of mouth. The real litmus test for Baadshaho as well as Shubh Mangal Saadhan will be Monday’s numbers as it will determine a lot for the two films.
