Baazaar, a movie starring actors Saif Ali Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Radhika Apte and debutant Rohan Mehra, has performed slightly better on the second day of its release at the box office. The movie, which is based largely on the stock market and which was released on October 26, did not perform so well on its opening day, earning just Rs 3.07 crore. But it showed a slight improvement on the following day, earning around Rs 4.10 crore.
Despite Saif being praised for his role in the movie, it did not attract a good number of viewers. Reason could be that it is a movie on the stock exchange, which has restricted appeal. The film did do good business in Mumbai and Gujarat though, but in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab it hardly earned much.
For it to make a mark, Baazaar will have to, as film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, earn more on day 3 and also in the coming days.
Baazaar was directed by Gauravv K. Chawla, written by Nikkhil Advani, Aseem Arora and Parveez Sheikh. The music of the film was composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Kanika Kapoor, Sohail Sen and Bilal Saeed, while the lyrics were penned by Shabbir Ahmed, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Ikka, Jamil Ahmed, Singhsta, Hommie Dilliwala and Bilal Saeed.
In comparison to movies like Kaashi in Search of Ganga, 5 Weddings and Gaon – The Village No More, movie Baazaar is said to be way ahead of them when it comes to earnings.
