Badhaai Ho is a family-comedy that showcases the journey of an elderly couple (played by Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao) who are expecting another child. The film features Ayushmann as the couple’s elder son and Sanya as his love interest.

Earlier, while speaking about the film’s response, Amit revealed to IANS, “You can’t write or direct a film thinking that whether it will work. When you write a film, you hope that it will do well. There has to be a positive demand or approach that the film on which we are working on should do well.”

It seems like the year belongs to Ayushmann. His film Andhadhun also featuring Radhika Apte and Tabu was praised by the audience. The movie performed well at the box office. It was directed by Sriram Raghavan.
