Actor John Abraham is all set for his next venture – Batla House. The Bollywood star, who will play the role of a policeman in the movie, took to his social media sites to share the first look from the film. Of the three posters he shared, one showed just a silhouette of a policeman, and one featured him in a police uniform.
The movie will be directed by Nikkhil Advani and its release date has been set as August 15, 2019.
The movie is based on the controversial Batla House encounter that took place in September 2008 at Jamia Nagar of Delhi. The encounter, which was officially called as Operation Batla House, was conducted against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in the area.
John took to his Twitter and Instagram pages to share the first look from the movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting from October this year. In a tweet he put out, the actor wrote, “95 mins that took 8yrs to be resolved and changed his life forever. The story of India’s most Decorated/Controversial Cop.”
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared a tweet on his Twitter page detailing the creators of the movie and the locations where it will be filmed.
Nikkhil Advani had announced Batla House on the fifth anniversary of his movie D-Day. He had earlier directed John in Salaam-E-Ishq.
