DC Comics character Lex Luthor is a sophisticated businessman and a super-villain. He has the ability to counter Superman. Actor Jesse Eisenberg is set to play the super villainous character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, thus becoming one of the founding members of the Justice League. Eisenberg is shown as bald in the first look of the movie released on March 25, as Superman’s arch enemy was traditionally shown without hair on his head. In the 1960s issue of Adventure Comics, Superman accidentally doused a chemical on Luthor, eventually losing all his hair and falling ill. In a fit of rage, Luthor is after Superman since then.

Director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder, while revealing the first look of the movie said, “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.” Zack added, “Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”

Going by the first look of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Eisenberg really looks menacing. His fierce, revengeful eyes clearly give the impression of Lex Luthor, and Zack is equally confident of the actor’s abilities to deliver.

Earlier, Eisenberg had played the role of Mark Zuckerberg, Founder, Facebook in the movie The Social Network. Although the character of Lex Luthor could also be said to be similar to Zuckerberg in terms of being a ruthless businessman, we feel Eisenberg just needs to add a tinge of maniac-ness to the character.
