That’s how superstars are. When they are done breaking records made by other films and actors, they start breaking their own. And with Bharat Ane Nenu, Mahesh Babu has started doing just that on the very second day of the film’s release. On day 1, the political drama directed by Koratala Siva, made Rs 27 lakh in Chennai, making a record for the highest single day gross, beating Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam (Rs 25 lakh) and Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi (Rs 24 lakh). And now, on the second day, it has again trumped not just Ram Charan’s Chennai earnings but his own.
Bharat Ane Nenu did better on Saturday in Chennai and grossed Rs 28 lakh, breaking its own record of Friday and retaining the highest single day gross for a Telugu film in Chennai position. With that the total has now reached, Rs 55 lakh. Apart from Chennai, the Tamil Nadu figures coming in, point towards an upward trend, with the film raking in around Rs 87 lakh taking the total to Rs 1.65 gross in two days. It is said to have made Rs 78 lakhs in TN on day 1, making a record for a opening day record for a Telugu film. Bharat Ane Nenu has released in 126 screens in the state.

It has beaten Rangasthalam here as well, and has made Mahesh Babu the only Telugu star, apart from Prabhas, to have two films in the Top 10 Telugu movies in the $2 million club. His other film is Srimanthudu, which was also directed by Koratala Siva and released in 2015.
