Shah Rukh Khan has invested a lot both physically and mentally in his upcoming film, Zero. An Aanand L Rai‘s directorial, the film features SRK in the role of a little man. The teaser of the film and other glimpses of the actor’s look have created a good buzz around Zero. It also features Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in important roles.

The director has talked about how the film is very close to his heart and how SRK has put his heart and soul into it. Now, praising King Khan a bit more, Rai talked to Mid-Day and revealed that the film is in its final post-production stages. He also stated that he and SRK were very much involved in filming Zero. In fact, he discussed every shot with the actor before shooting it and finalising it. This also led to a special bond between the two. Rai also mentioned that the film has been able to come out well because of the shared love for cinema between him and Shah Rukh.

The director said, “The film and Khan saab surprised me. When I saw it recently, I wondered how I managed it. Zero was tough for me as a director, but even more so for Khan saab. This is his toughest role. It drained him physically and mentally. He could not afford to slip even for a second”.

Zero also has a cameo by Salman Khan. A glimpse of the same was released as Eid gift to the audience earlier this year. The film is one of the most anticipated Hindi films of the year and is slated for release on December 21.
