Actor Aditya Pancholi has been charged with a non-cognisable offence by a car mechanic for allegedly abusing and threatening him over a bill payment issue. The complainant, Moshin Kadar Rajapkar, accused the actor of using foul language and filed an FIR with the Versova Police in western suburbs on Monday.

The 47-year-old car mechanic and the Yes Boss actor reportedly knew each personally and the former stated that Aditya had called him, for the purpose of car servicing, to his residence after which Moshin had taken the Land Cruiser owned by Aditya, in March 10, 2017, and got it transported to New Delhi for further servicing, due to lack of equipment in Mumbai. The servicing of the luxury car had cost Rs 2.82 lakh but after taking the car back in February 2018, Aditya misbehaved with the mechanic over the phone, used obscene language and also threatened him, as per Ravindra Badgujar, senior inspector of the Versova police station.

“On the complaint of the mechanic we have registered a non-cognisable offence against the actor and our probe is underway,” he said. Under the law of non-cognisable offence, the police require a warrant to arrest an accused and a court’s prior approval to begin investigation since they have no authority to apprehend a person for crime on their own.

Aditya, however, has denied such allegations against him saying that he had cleared all his payments. According to a report by India TV, Aditya said, “I have made all the payments and I have bank statements, in fact, he kept my car for one year for no reason.”

This is however not the first time that the actor has landed himself in a controversy. In 2017 he was accused by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut of harassing her when they were in a relationship. Aditya had denied the claim and filed a case instead, against Kangana and her sister, along with his wife Zarina Wahab.
