Kalank’s next song titled Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira is going to be out today. The fun-filled song features Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur dancing to the tunes of Pritam Chakraborty. The lyrics of the peppy number are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira is a special dance track in Kalank that basically highlights the celebration on the festival of Eid. Music director Pritam talked to Times of India about the importance of the song and revealed that it’s the only song in the Abhishek Varman-directorial that shows Varun’s and Aditya’s characters together in one frame.
Pritam also revealed how Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira actually came into existence. He told the daily that Abhishek and Karan wanted a ‘masti bhara’ song to mark the celebrations but it also had to match with the old world charm that the film has. So, lyricist Amitabh immediately came with the hook-line ‘Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira‘ and Pritam built the entire song around it.
He was quoted by the daily saying, “It was Amitabh’s idea to add some chhedkhani in the lyrics, which Abhishek simply loved. When I saw the video, I was happy to see that Varun, Kriti and Aditya have done justice to the song. They elevated it to the next level.”
The popular music composer went ahead to explain the challenge he faced while curating the song. Pritam called Amitabh a ‘genius’ for coming with unusual lines instantly. However, he said that when the lyricist was done with his job, it was his duty to make sure the song was matching the ‘milieu’ of the story and also appearing modern enough to resonate with the youth today. He told the daily that the audience are definitely going to find something traditional and ‘refreshingly Indian’ in Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira and at the same time enjoying the ‘modern spunk’ it has.
The song will be released by the film’s team in Delhi today. The other songs of Kalank are already crawling up the chartbuster’s list. Kalank is slated to hit the screens on April 17.
