Actor Alia Bhatt has responded to actor Kangana Ranaut‘s statement against her in which she called her ‘spineless’ and ‘Karan Johar‘s puppet.’ Alia is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Gully Boy with Ranveer Singh. During one promotional interview, she was asked to comment on what Kangana said about her. Alia, making sure to not cause any hype in the war of words, said that she would talk to Kangana in person.

In an interview with a leading daily, Alia said, “I would like to react to her personally if she has any complaints. I don’t want to talk about it in the media.”She added that she has always been an admirer of Kangana’s work and said, “As I have said before, I really admire her as an actor and the choices that she makes. She’s a very outspoken person and I admire her for that as well. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don’t know. Basically, it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t do anything to get a reaction like this.”

Kangana had earlier criticised Alia for not supporting her in the Manikarnika debacle. She said that while she actively promoted Alia’s Raazi, the Gully Boy actor steered clear away from even talking about Manikarnika let alone supporting her in the controversy. To which Alia said that if she hurt Kangana unintentionally, she would apologise to her personally. Kangan reiterated by saying, “I suggested that she grows some spine and supports an important film about woman empowerment and nationalism…if she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s (Karan Johar) puppet then I don’t consider her successful. I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raise a voice, then her success has no value.”
