Actor Arjun Kapoor has opened up on his rumoured wedding with Malaika Arora and what he thinks about the stars being constantly hounded by the media to share their personal life. The actor was present at an event when he gave quite a dodgy answer to the question of his wedding. He said that when there’s something worth announcing, everyone will get to know.
Arjun was quoted by Mid-Day saying, “When there is something to talk about, you will all know”. He called an actor’s ‘privacy’ a ‘price’ of his stardom. Arjun said that the actors, who say they are troubled by their privacy being violated in the media, are in the wrong profession. The actor said, “If anyone says ‘mujhe meri privacy chahye (I want my privacy)’, then he is in the wrong profession… because you sell that (your privacy), the day you become recognisable.” However, he asserted that one can and should control the amount of personal information to be given away. He added, “It’s your choice how much you put out there or yourself and your availability. Today, you have a lot of control over how much you want people to know about your life. Speculation and gossip are a part of it. I am not the first actor or the last. Our entire tribe is immune to it… because it is the nature of the business. ”
The actor is currently shooting for his next film, Panipat: The Great Betrayal, with Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon. He further clearly stated that he has no problem with his life being talked about by his fans. He said, “It is a small price to pay. At the end of the day, for what I have gained out of being an actor, somebody who is known across the country and the world, it’s a small price. And people like to know how we are. They like to be surprised by how normal we are and to know our idiosyncrasies. It doesn’t really bother me”.
