Badla is still going strong at the box office and as per the latest numbers it has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India and is performing very well overseas too. The movie, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, had earned more than Hollywood movie Captain Marvel in the second weekend and despite other new releases, it had minted Rs 18.70 crore, which is slightly lower than the first weekend at Rs 23.20 crore.

The total India biz now stands at Rs 59.77 crore with its gross at Rs 70.52 crore. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted that Badla is also doing very well overseas in countries like USA, Canada, UAE, UK and Australia. Taran also stated that the movie will cross the lifetime biz of Pink in week 2 itself.

Badla, which was directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment, is about a married woman, played by Taapsee, who is blackmailed for having an affair with another man who gets murdered. The woman is accused of the murder and a lawyer, played by Amitabh, takes on her case and they both try and solve who is behind it.

The movie, which is an official remake of the 2017 Spanish thriller Contratiempo (The Invisible Guest), had opened to positive reviews from critics, with Amitabh and Taapsee, who had starred together in 2016 movie Pink, receiving most of the praise for their performances.
