Actor Bobby Deol, who returned to the big screen after a while with Salman Khan’s Race 3, has now opened up on the performance of the film. While the film opened to a great number at the Box Office, the audience couldn’t really warm up to the content and it didn’t perform at par with the other Salman’s hit films. From the trailer to the songs of the film, every little thing was trolled. During an interaction with news agency PTI recently, Bobby talked about the film and how it received so much of negativity even before its release.
He said, “There was a lot of negativity for the film from the word go. I don’t know what it was, why it was. No film gets so much negativity before a release. It was being trolled for everything and anything. But Salman Khan‘s power is Salman Khan’s power”.
“You don’t want to hit a century and lose the match. You want your team to win. Sometimes even victories are not appreciated. I think Race 3 is like that – it was victorious but wasn’t appreciated,” the Yamla Pagla Deewana actor added.
Even though Race 3 could not please the audiences, yet it surpassed Rs 100 crore collection at the Box Office. Talking about the same, Bobby said, “A film cannot collect so much money at the box office just like that. There had to be a certain percentage of people who loved the film but there was a certain percentage on social media who were pulling it down. His (Salman’s) film is a bigger hit than someone else’s big hit. He is an angel. There’s no way he’s going to stop being who he is. He’s a wonderful person”.
Bobby returned to the silver screen after a hiatus of three years with Race 3. It was an important film for him as he himself revealed he was desperately in search of some mainstream work.
