Establishing her mettle one last time before her untimely death, late actress Sridevi won over fans with her Bollywood thriller MOM that released in 2017. Sridevi even won the National Award for best actress posthumously for her film MOM and after impressing Box Office in India, the movie hit the cinema screens in China today which evidently turned Boney Kapoor emotional.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Friday, Boney tweeted, “Mom releases in China today. An emotional moment for me. Thank you @ZeeStudios_ for spreading Sri’s last film to such wider audiences. I hope people will connect with the film there too. @SrideviBKapoor @MomTheMovie” (sic).

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film revolves around Sridevi, as a vigilante, who sets out to avenge a crime committed against her step-daughter (played by Sajal Ali). MOM which was Sridevi’s 300th film also stars Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. MOM released in India on July 7, 2017.

Sridevi passed away in Dubai, UAE due to accidental drowning. She had gone there with her family members to celebrate the marriage of her nephew Mohit Marwah. It’s been over an year to Sridevi’s sudden demise. The lady superstar of the Hindi film industry was found dead in her bathroom at a hotel in Dubai on February 24. The reason for her death was identified as accidental drowning. Boney and his family have been trying to deal with the loss. While daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor have managed to design their future plans by finding solace in their work, Boney has received immense support from his other kids – Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor.

Earlier as well, producer Boney Kapoor tore up on remembering his late wife. The filmmaker was present on a chat show where he was discussing the importance of the family in one’s life. During the interaction, Boney mentioned the word ‘wife’ and at that moment, got reminded of Sridevi. He couldn’t complete the sentence, choked, and went numb for a few seconds. When the host tried to comfort him by asking is there any moment he doesn’t miss his dear wife, Boney first continued with his silence, then realising he was at a loss of words, he muttered, “Namumkin Hai” (It’s impossible).
