Based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, Meghna Gulzar‘s Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the lead, is said to go on floors in the third week of March. While Deepika was recently reported to be going through websites to learn how the acid attack survivors were affected and was looking up all available material (photographs/videos) on the internet about Laxmi to thoroughly research her life and prep for the role, it has now been revealed that her co-star Vikrant has moved his base to a hotel in Mumbai to prep better for his role in the upcoming movie.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Vikrant will be staying in the hotel room all by himself to prep for his role which requires him to look and speak in a particular way. A source told Pinkvilla that the actor will be speaking a particular dialect, which he has already gotten comfortable with and will have a different physical appearance which needs grooming now. Keeping both his workout and dialect grooming sessions in mind, Vikrant chose to stay in a hotel.
Having given stellar performances in Lootera and Dil Dhadakne Do, Vikrant has proved his mettle so far and we are not surprised by his latest move to shift base for a role. While Vikrant reportedly takes off to an unknown place to prepare for his roles and returns only when the shooting is about to begin, for Chhapaak, Vikrant is said to have wrapped up all previously pending projects of his and kept a month aside to specifically prepare for this one.
The film is being directed by Meghna Gulzar whose 2018 film Raazi, did wonders at the Box Office. Talking about the film, Deepika earlier told Pinkvilla, “It’s an important story to be told. Period. I don’t think it has anything to do with male or female, it’s about the human spirit. It’s about bravery and triumph. Hopefully, we’ll be able to bring about a social change.”
