After Ananya Panday slept with her Filmfare trophy, Bollywood’s live wire Ranveer Singh couldn’t keep calm on taking home the Best Actor’s trophy for Gully Boy where Deepika Padukone took it straight to bed. While it may seem like an exaggeration, Ranveer gave fans a visual proof of the same and broke the Internet with the viral picture.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Ranveer shared the picture of Deepika sleeping with the trophy clutched in her hand and flashing that million-dollar smile on being caught. The picture was captioned, “When my Little lady met my Black lady (sic).”

Actor Ranveer Singh swept another film award for his performance as Murad in Gully Boy, a film that even landed in the nominations list of Oscars 2020. This time, he received a Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Male). Ranveer took to social media and shared a heartwarming note on the entire experience of receiving the ‘black lady’ from Madhuri Dixit. Ranveer posted a picture of himself from the stage of the 65th Filmfare Awards where he is seen accepting the award from the Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood.

Gully Boy bagged the awards in all the major categories at the Filmfare Awards 2020 including Best Actor (Female) for Alia Bhatt, Best Director for Zoya Akhtar, Best Lyricist, Best Supporting Actor (Male, Female) for Siddhant Chaturvedi and Amruta Subhash, respectively, Best Screenplay, Best Album, Best Dialogue and Best Cinematography among others.

On the professional front, Ranveer is gearing up for Kabir Khan’s ’83, which traces India’s historic victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. While Ranveer portrays the team’s captain Kapil Dev, Deepika plays his wife Romi. The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and is scheduled to release on April 10 next year in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

This is Ranveer and Deepika’s first film together after their wedding last year. The couple previously co-starred in megahits Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.

Apart from this, Ranveer has wrapped up shooting for Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang, the movie is a humorous entertainer set in Gujarat. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of a Gujarati man Jayeshbhai, the hero who will be seen championing the cause of women empowerment in the most entertaining way of story-telling.

Ranveer also has Karan Johar’s Takht in his kitty which is based on the Mughal era. Earlier, in his interview with Neha Dhupia, Karan had revealed that it’s the story about Mughal ruler Shahjahan’s two sons – Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh and their tryst with the throne. Kareena is believed to be playing the role of Jahanara Begum – the first lady of the Mughal empire while Anil essays the role of king Shahjahan. With Takht, KJo is returning to direct a film after a hiatus of four years. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Jahnvi Kapoor.
