Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak is perhaps one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film is the Hindi adaptation of the superhit Marathi film, Sairat, helmed by Nagraj Manjule. Dhadak has been directed by Shashank Khaitan under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Well, this fresh pair and their sizzling chemistry has us all rooting for them and the film that is slated to release on July 20th, this year. The film’s trailer looks promising and we just can’t wait to watch the young actors unleash their magic on screen.
After the first song, ie Dhadak’s title track, the makers have unveiled the second song today– Zingaat. Composers Ajay Atul have recreated the popular Marathi dance number from Sairat by the same name and we definitely can’t get over it. In an interview with a leading daily, Ajay revealed that there are some differences between the Marathi and the Hindi versions. “The beginning chorus in the Marathi song was in English, while in the Hindi version, the chorus is similar to what we hear in Rajasthani songs, ” he said. ‘Dhadak’s ‘Zingaat’ has been choreographed by Farah Khan and Janhvi and Ishaan definitely do justice to the energetic steps. To say that we want to leave everything and dance to the beats of this song won’t be an understatement.

KJo was keen on roping in lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya to pen the lyrics of the Hindi version. The lyricist has time and again mentioned how challenging the experience was. During a media interaction, he said, “The Marathi song was released in the recent past and is still fresh in the minds of people. It has also achieved cult status. There was no point replacing the word Zingaat, so I retained the word and rewrote the rest of the song in Hindi. I made sure that the fun element was intact. I hope people give this version as much love as the Marathi one.”
