Dilip Kumar who has been admitted to hospital on Wednesday afternoon following uneasiness and breathlessness due to chest infection was diagnosed with pneumonia. Saira Banu has now confirmed to Zee News that his congestion has been improved with strong medication but he has to improve more for a good recovery.
She said, “Yes please do pray. His congestion is a bit improved with strong medication and we have to yet improve much more for a good recovery In Shaa Allah. Thank you for the good wishes.”
Previously, Saira has said in a statement, “He is doing better now. The medical reports are saying a small patch of pneumonia is there. God willing, he will be out of it soon. But he is doing fine.”
The news of Dilip Kumar’s illness was shared on the actor’s official Twitter handle and it also stated that he is recuperating well.
Dilip is one of the most respected and talented actors of the Hindi cinema. He has delivered spectacular performances in movies like Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Gunga Jamuna (1961) and Devdas (1955). The veteran actor received Padma Bhushan in 1991. He was also honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Pakistan’s Nishan-e-Imtiaz Award.
Earlier, he got hospitalised due to the kidney infection. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan visited him and also prayed for his speedy recovery.
