Dilip Kumar who was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai yesterday for recurrent pneumonia is doing much better now and is responding to the treatment.

The news of Dilip’s ill health was shared by Faisal Farooqui, a family friend of Dilip. She has now updated Dilip’s fans on his health and wrote on behalf of him. Faisal wrote, “Lord be praised. @TheDilipKumar saab is responding to treatment and doing much better . If all goes well, as per doctors, he may be discharged from the hospital tomm. (Thursday afternoon). Insha’Allah. -FF”

Earlier informing about Dilip’s health, Faisal wrote, “Want to inform you @TheDilipKumar has been admitted to hospital last night. He’s being treated for recurrent pneumonia. Praying…will keep you updated on twitter”.

A few days ago, Udaya Tara Nayar, compiler of the Dilip’s autobiography, told IANS,” “He is as well as he can be at his age… He is well looked after by his wife Saira Banu.” Well, we are glad that the actor is back to being normal and wish he continues to so. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai who is close to the senior actor had earlier told IANS, “What he has done for films… He will remain the emperor of cinema because an emperor is the one who is followed by other kings. About 11 Dilip Kumars were born under his reflection, and they have become superstars today. He is an institution in himself”.

Dilip is one of the most respected and talented actors of the Hindi cinema. He has delivered spectacular performances in movies like Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Gunga Jamuna (1961) and Devdas (1955). The veteran actor received Padma Bhushan in 1991. He was also honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Pakistan’s Nishan-e-Imtiaz Award.

Earlier, he got hospitalised due to the kidney infection. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan visited him and also prayed for his speedy recovery.
