It seems that the stars are lining up for actress Sara Ali Khan, as after publicly stating her fondness for actor Kartik Aaryan, she will now be starring opposite him in director Imtiaz Ali’s yet to be titled romantic movie. The movie will also mark Imtiaz’s reunion with actor Randeep Hooda, who he had worked with in 2014 film Highway. It seems everything is in place as shooting will take place in Delhi from next week.

According to Mumbai Mirror, a source close to the development had revealed that unlike previous movies that were shot abroad, this one will majorly be filmed in India.

“Kartik, Sara and Randeep have been doing readings for a while now and the film is ready to go on the floors. Unlike Imtiaz’s previous two films – Jab Harry Met Sejal and Tamasha – which were set in foreign locales, this one largely unravels in Punjab and Delhi,” the source was quoted as saying.

Kartik himself was over the moon about working with Imtiaz and was quoted as saying, “Yes, I am doing Imtiaz sir’s next film. He is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening.”

As per reports, the untitled film could be a sequel to Imtiaz’s 2009 romantic-comedy-drama Love Aaj Kal, which had starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. When Saif was asked if he would be reprising Rishi Kapoor’s role from the previous movie, he told the Mirror, “Imtiaz is making Love Aaj Kal 2, I’m happy to sell my stake and not be a part of the film. It’s a business deal.”

On Randeep joining the team, the source had revealed, “While Kartik and Sara are paired opposite each other, Randeep’s role is similar to that of Rishi Kapoor’s in Love Aaj Kal.”

Kartik has been taking on one project after another with his latest movie Luka Chuppi releasing today. The romantic-comedy film, which has been directed by Laxman Utekar, also starred Kriti Sanon and was produced by Dinesh Vijan.
