Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has been receiving positive reviews from critics for bringing into the limelight the issues faced by the LGBTQ community, and their treatment by the society at large. Actors Sonam Kapoor, her father Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Rajkummar Rao were also praised for their roles in the movie, and it had done well at the box office too. On its opening day, it minted around Rs 3.30 crore and on the third day Rs 5.58 crore, but it seems business has gone down after the weekend.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who had given the movie three stars out of five and had termed it as ‘brave’ while praising the actors for their roles, tweeted out the numbers for both the national and international markets.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which is a romantic coming-of-age film directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the banner of Vinod Chopra Films, has been getting tough competition from Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Her latest release aside, Sonam is said to be busy with The Zoya Factor, which will also star Dulquer Salmaan, and which will be directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by Anuja Chauhan, about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki.
Rajkummar on the other hand, has a host of projects in his kitty, with Mental Hai Kya set for release in March, and Made in China in August.
