Producer-director Ekta Kapoor is very well-known for the movies and television serials that she has created, and with recognition comes a number of things, like having a stalker. Recently it was revealed that Ekta had allegedly been followed by a 32-year-old man over 30 times in the last month. The Amboli police are said to have arrested the man who is a diver working with a private cab service provider.
According to DNA, the accused, who has been identified as Sudhir Rajender Singh from Haryana, had wanted to meet Ekta for a job opportunity and to also become her friend. Ekta is said to have ignored him most of the time he followed her across the city.
“A few days back, when Ekta had gone to visit a temple in Juhu, Singh followed her there also and tried to approach her but was caught by her personal guards and he was warned to stay away from her,” a police officer was quoted as saying.
Police further revealed that the accused also took membership in the same gym in Andheri west where Ekta used to go and was spotted loitering often near the place while Ekta was inside. As per reports, on March 16 evening the man again followed Ekta to the gym and tried to sneak inside but was stopped by the guards. He was arrested on March 18 following a complaint of stalking against him.
The officer further revealed that the complaint was registered under section 354 (D) of the Indian Penal Code and the accused was located from Andheri west Veera Desai road with the aid of CCTV. The police are now looking for evidence as to how he got the information on Ekta’s whereabouts every time she is out.
