Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who came together to deliver a blockbuster hit film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, are reuniting once again after 6 years for the film titled Toofan. The lethal combination will be coming together for the film based on boxing. However, the film will not be a biopic but a fictional story.

Earlier today, January 16, Farhan took to social media to announce that he will be reuniting with the filmmaker and poster a picture of the two of them. His post reads, “Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @rakeyshommehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan .. a heartfelt story of a boxer. Hope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey. Love.”

A source close to the actor spoke to Mumbai Mirror about the film and said, “It’s not a biopic. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh and the film should roll this year.”

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor became the sixth highest grossing film of 2013. The film also bagged the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

On the professional front, Farhan is currently occupied with the work of his upcoming film, The Sky is Pink. The move also features Zaira Wasim and Priyanka Chopra in pivotal roles. The filmmaker is also rumoured to be soon making an announcement about Don 3, his much-awaited film.

On the personal front, Farhan is currently dating actress Shibani Dandekar. Farhan and Shibani have been making many public appearances together. The duo also celebrated the actor’s birthday recently along with some other close friends. The photos of Shibani arriving alone but taking Farhan back in her car went viral on the internet.
