Singer-actor Farhan Akhtar has recently praised singer Daler Mehndi, who has lent his voice for a song of the forthcoming film Gold. Farhan commended his voice and said that it is always a pleasure to hear Daler’s voice.

Mehndi on Friday had tweeted, “My India is incredible. It is my humble request to all my fellow citizens to rise above religion, caste, politics and make India ‘Gold’. Thank you Akshay Kumar, Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and Sachin-Jigar for giving me and all of India this beautiful gift of ‘Gold’.” Replying to his tweet, Farhaan wrote, “Daler Mehndi, always a pleasure to hear your voice and associate with your incredible talent. Thank you for taking the chant of ‘Ghar layenge gold’ to the audience”.

Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan under the banner Excel Entertainment, Gold is a sports drama about India’s first Olympic medal, for hockey, as a free nation in 1948 at the 14th Olympic Games in London. The film has been shot across the UK and India, capturing the fascinating aspects of the pre-independent era. Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, Gold promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast. The film is all set to release on August 15.
