Actor Sushant Singh Rajput had won a lot of accolades for his portrayal of cricketer MS Dhoni in the movie MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. The movie, which was released in 2016, and which was a commercial success, had been written and directed by Neeraj Pandey and was based on the life of former Test, ODI and T20I captain of the Indian national cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
There had been talks of a sequel to the film being made, and Sushant has given credence to the speculation after he posted a video on his Instagram page showing him essaying the role of Dhoni.
In the caption, he wrote, “Thalaiva and me. Good morning. ‘Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into crowd. India lift the World Cup after 28 years and it is the Indian Captain who has been absolutely magnificent in the night of the final ~ Shastri’.”

According to an earlier report, Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films is producing the second instalment of the MS Dhoni franchise, which will have Sushant once again playing the role of the former Indian cricket team skipper. Another report suggested that the film will focus on Dhoni’s accomplishments following India’s 2011 World Cup victory. Apart from the game, Dhoni’s personal life, like becoming a father, could be added in the sequel.
There is no confirmation as yet if there will be a sequel, and Dhoni himself had in 2016, during the release of the biopic, suggested that there should not be any, as it will be “very controversial”.
