Actor Deepika Padukone has her own style of refuting the rumours about her. Her latest Instagram post is her answer to the speculations abound her not being able to cast vote. Deepika took to social media and posted a selfie flaunting her inked finger after she exercised her democratic right to vote in Mumbai. The caption on her post is quite interesting. Before Deepika stepped out of her abode towards the polling booth, the speculations were rife that because Deepika was born in Denmark, she won’t be able to cast her vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2019. However, with Deepika’s selfie on Instagram, she just shushed all who thought her Denmark citizenship will stop her from contributing to building her nation.
The caption on Deepika’s vote selfie post mentioned that she is ‘proud to be an Indian’. It read, “Never has there been any doubt in my mind about who I am or where I’m from.So for those of you confused on my behalf…please don’t be!Jai Hind!🙏🏽 #proudtobeanindian #govote” (sic)
Deepika went to the booth sans her husband Ranveer Singh and other family members. Ranveer, in fact, cast his vote with his father Jagjit Singh Bhavanani earlier in the day. As she moved out to vote, Deepika got clicked by the paparazzi wearing a long white shirt with a pair of blue denim. The actor’s casual look was perfect to beat the heat in the day. Deepika looked good. Here are the pictures:
