Brushing aside our Monday blues with a dash of cuteness, first-time mommy and Gully Boy star Kalki Koechlin flooded the Internet with the first set of pictures including partner Guy Hershberg with three-day-old baby daughter, Sappho. Colouring up our social media feeds like nothing else, Kalki shared the adorable pictures along with details of her natural waterbirth.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Kalki shared the pictures featuring her smiling radiantly as Guy kissed her on the forehead while he held baby Sappho in his arms. Kalki captioned the pictures, “So thankful to the whole team at Tulip Women’s Care and to my to doctors @docsheetalsabharwal and @drrvpunjabi who simply refused to give up on me even when after 17 hours I was so tired I begged them to take the baby out anyway they could and they said no, you’ve come this far and you’re going to have your natural water birth, and an hour later Sappho was born. You guys are miracle workers! (sic).”
Recently, Kalki had shared a heart-melting picture of the baby’s footprint along with a warm note on motherhood to make the news official. Kalki and Guy welcomed a baby girl on Friday, February 7, in Goa. The actor gave birth to her first child through the water-birthing technique. The news was first broken by photographer Viral Bhayani who took to his Instagram account and made a post announcing the birth of the child.
Being a star mom comes with its own set of responsibilities and Kalki has planned how to keep her child away from the unnecessary media attention and also making him a part of her real life. In her earlier interview with a daily, the actor opened up on how she wants to protect her child from media bullying but at the same time finding the right balance.
The actor, who’s popular for her acclaimed performances in many films, went on to say that her baby doesn’t need to be in the media all the time. She said she wants her kid to play with other kids who don’t belong to the same background as theirs. However, Kalki said she was always aware of the kind of world we are living in and she will eventually find a balance of both the worlds for her baby. “But at the same time, I understand that we live in a social media world. I’m not going to hide my baby in a cupboard. I will have to find that balance,” she said.
