Actress Kangana Ranaut hosted a success bash for her latest release film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. While interacting with the media at the party, she talked about how she considers actor Ranbir Kapoor an irresponsible citizen of the country. Kangana said that she remembers Ranbir refusing to comment on politics in an interview. She added it saddens her to see stars like Ranbir not caring to talk about their country despite everything that the nation has given to them.

Kangana said “Maine kahi Ranbir Kapoor ka interview dekha tha waha ranbir kehte hai ki,’mere ghar light hai, pani hai toh main kyu…’ Ye kaisi baat karte hain ye actors? Desh ke bare me baat nahi kar skte hain. Unhe lagta hai pata nahi hai jo mahngi car or lifestyle wo desh ne hi unhe diya hai.”

Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Ranbir was asked why he doesn’t make political statements to which he said, “I don’t make any political statements because I don’t follow politics. Politics makes no difference in my life. I’m not at the brunt of anything. I live a luxurious life. I don’t have water or housing problems. I don’t have any issues, so who am I to comment on politics?”

Kangana was dressed in her Rani Laxmibai avatar at the event wearing a Paithani sari in a Nauvari style. She was accompanied by her co-star Ankita Lokhande, who played the character of Jhalkari Bai in the film. Kangana’s family members – sister Rangoli Chandel, her husband, and their parents were also seen thanking the audience and the media for their support in making Manikarnika a success.

Kangana also talked about working on her biopic. She said she has planned to make her biopic, however, there’s time to it. She further praised actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and said that she has been a great admirer of her work and how she balances her professional and personal life. She then stated that she is in talks with Kareena to star in her biopic.

On the work front, Kangana will next be seen in Mental Hai Kya, which has Rajkummar Rao opposite her. The film is directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
