Actress Kangana Ranaut is riding high on success after her film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi did decent business at the box office. However, controversies surrounding it refuse to die. In her recent media interaction, the actress slammed Bollywood celebs for not coming out in support of the film. She stated that just because she spoke about nepotism in the past, people have ganged up against her. Kangana has vowed to expose everyone in Bollywood.
When Kangana was asked about the lack of support for her film, she stated that she has won 3-4 National awards and at the age of 31, she is a filmmaker. She went on to say that if would be a great deal if these celebs promote themselves.
PTI quoted her saying, “Is Rani of Jhansi my aunt? She’s as much mine as she’s yours. Then why are these people scared? They are worried just because I spoke on nepotism? They have formed a gang: ‘Why did she speak on nepotism?.”
“They have all gathered together, like a classroom where 59 have ganged up against one, trying to bully one. How will you feel if someone did that? Aren’t they ashamed? Some of them are my grandfather’s age. “They are after me. Don’t they feel ashamed that it’s not about me. I don’t even want to work with them and I’ve said that often.”
“What Bollywood is doing, the planning and plotting, one thing is for sure, earlier I used to call them out for sexism, nepotism or pay disparity, but now I’ll be after them. ‘Inki vaat laga dugi’. I’ll expose each and every one. They have asked for trouble by ganging up against me.”
Earlier, in an interview to Pinkvilla, Kangana reacted to filmmaker Krish’s allegations saying that they have to deal with the fact that after 12 years of struggle she has reached where she is right now.
The actress made her directorial debut with Manikarnika. It is bankrolled by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain & Nishant Pitti.
