Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil featuring actors Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan performed well at the box office. The unrequited tale of love left many teary-eyed in the cinema halls when Anushka’s character Aliseh died. But, in his latest interview KJo has given the reason of killing that character and it will surely leave you speechless. He stated that Aliseh had to die as she couldn’t reciprocate love that Ayan had for her.
While talking to HuffingtonPost, the director said, “The last track met with many polarised responses and rightfully so, but I was like she (Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh who doesn’t reciprocate Ayan’s feelings) didn’t love him, she has to die. I wrote this character. He loved her so crazily. She could’ve loved him back, why couldn’t she? So she got cancer and she died.”
His comments have gathered hatred on the social media with people slamming him for giving unreasonable justification of Alizeh’s death.
Lately, his celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan made headlines after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul graced it. They faced backlash for passing derogatory comments. Talking about it to ET Now,
Karan said, “I have to say that I feel very responsible because it was my show, it was my platform. I invited them as guests and so the ramifications and repercussion of the show are my responsibility. I have had so many sleepless nights just wondering about how I can undo this damage, who is going to listen to me. It’s now gone into a zone which is beyond my control.”
On the professional front, Dharma Productions’ last release Simmba did a wonderful business at the box office. The director will soon start shooting for Takht. It features Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in crucial roles.
